Hoisin Baby Back Ribs
These are delectable fall-off-the-bone ribs! I will be back to enjoy them again and again.
Prime Ribeye Block
Amazing combination...tender, juicy, and delicious. Chimichurri was inspired and broccoli Riunded out the dish. Must have again!
Grilled Fish Tacos (3)
Delish and flavorful. The best fish tacos this side of town.
Homemade Chicken Soup
This was my first time dining at Mah Jong's by Chef Mike. We had 3 dishes for lunch. The first course was the homemade chicken soup. The broth was very delicate and definitely had a homemade feel to it. The chicken was most taken from the breast meat. Chopped carrots, cilantro, celery and onions complimented the soup very well and was not overcooked at all. I loved the texture of the ingredients together. My personal taste would have enjoyed a bit more ginger flavor in the soup and a hint more onion and/or garlic powder. For my second dish, I ordered the Waygu Hamburger with shishito aioli and american cheese. My favorite part of this burger wasn't actually the wagyu meat itself, but the egg bun really outshined the rest. The bun/meat ratio was perfect. I ordered the burger medium and it came out perfectly, juicy and delicious. It wasnt trying to be too fancy like other gourmet burgers. It was just a classic burger that was simply paired with american cheese, lettuce, tomato and aioli. The potato wedges were lightly seasoned with salt. Finally, I ordered the Hoisin Baby Back Ribs. I was already full when it came to the third course, but these ribs did not disappoint. I wish I had these for my first course. They are served on a warm bed of Nishiki rice covered in a ton of scallions and grilled cauliflower and asparagus cooked to perfection. The hoisin sauce was very subtle. I personally prefer more sauce on my ribs and they could have used more for sure, but meat literally fell off the bone. Finger licking good. Chef Mike came out from the kitchen and greeted us which is a nice personal touch. I will definitely come back again!
Seared Yellowfin Ahi
What a great meal! We had oysters, beet salad and seared ahi. EVERYTHING WAS PREPARED PERFECTLY! The meal was paired with a white tempranillo which we have never had before, and was really good! We also tried the cocktails and yummm! Already made reservations for our next dinner at Mah Jong's. This time we are bringing our friends! Can't wait to try the omakase dinner!!!!
Hoisin Baby Back Ribs
One of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Every time I go there I have to order this. It's so fresh and so delicious ?!! I dream about it regularly and wish we lived closer so I could go there more often. It's where we stop every time we drive between LA and San Diego. I like mine a bit Chrispy, so ask her that if that's how you like your ribs.
Togarashi Scallops
I've had this several times. Always delicious. Always a good choice. I absolutely love everything on this menu. The wine and scotch selection is great too!

Hoisin Baby Back Ribs
BEST RIBS ON THIS PLANET!!! I'm a rib connoisseur and was blown away with the overall taste/tenderness of the ribs. The staff could not have been more friendly. It was a true family atmosphere, and felt right at home. Thank you Chef Mike, you are the man!!!
Togarashi Scallops
Incredible dish. Scallops can be tricky to cook: heat them for too long, and they turn rubbery. The Maine Scallop's at Chef Mike's were sauteed perfectly. They melted in my mouth, and had a buttery smooth flavor to boot. Complimented by the butternut squash accompaniment, and I was one happy diner. It was a good amount of food too, and I didn't leave hungry.
